None of us want to take the blame
When situations go awry
It’s so much easier to pass the buck
And all responsibility, deny
What ever happened to standing up
And admitting a mistake was made
At one time, that was an honorable deed
Now, to concede an error leaves us shaken and afraid
It is now so commonplace and easy
To avoid responsibility – it has become a daily game
We find someone to take the fall for our errors
There is always someone else upon whom we can cast blame
We have to change how we view mistakes
We have to see them for the opportunities they provide
Mistakes give us the insight to make our lives better
They give us strength to let go of selfishness and pride
Do not deny your mistakes
Admit them quickly and without reservation
When we make amends to those we have hurt
forgiveness comes to us without much hesitation
