If I can look in the mirror
And approve of the person who stares back
Then I know I am headed in the right direction
With my life proceeding on the right track
Self-reflection can be complicated and frightening
We must see the truth behind our own eyes
Do they reflect an honest and genuine person?
Or do they reveal a life built on selfishness and lies?
Staring into that reflection
Is not an easy task to perform
We must be willing to confront that image
And admit that our life we might need to transform
If I can look in the mirror each day
And believe in the reflection that appears
I know I am building a life based on truth
Not a life composed of the distortion of my fears
