Insecurity is a human flaw
We wonder if those around us approve
Of how we live, in what we believe
Do they make judgments in how we can improve?
Our insecurity can only bring us pain
We cannot be everything to everyone
When we sense disapproval, our self-doubts grow
And from our own dreams, we then turn and run
Our insecurity opens the door for others
To tell us how our lives we should transform
We give them permission to steal our hopes
We surrender who we are so we can conform
Do not allow insecurity to thrive in your heart
Believe in your gifts and what you want to achieve
No one has the right to belittle your worth
It is your life to design and your dreams to weave
