I have noticed through the years
The conversations that go
Between the jets of my simple hot tub
Where only calm and relaxation flow
On weekends it is my husband and me
On school breaks, my daughter soaks too
In the dark night with the tub’s colored lights
We catch up on gossip – what is not and what is true
Sometimes a friend will come to unwind
Margaritas are usually the drink of choice
We talk about family, jobs and our hopes
In that little hot tub, our dreams find their voice
We got that hot tub for my muscle aches
But it became more than a soothing place to unwind
It became a sanctuary for tired souls
A haven to re-energize the heart and mind
