I wait for the first light to peek through my windows
After a night of tossing and turning
The dark brings self-doubt and sometimes remorse
But the daylight brings the familiar burning

Each morning I am amazed at the power of the dawn
And its ability to quell my fears
One ray of sun offers a day of hope
A day that allows promise instead of tears

Insecurity can suffocate and destroy dreams
If we let it find a home in our heart
Look to the first light of day, the new dawn
For the possibilities that come with a new start

The night will come that is inevitable
But our fear is an option we can choose to ignore
Let the first light of day be your beacon through the dark
And soon the fear of night will haunt you no more.
