Life would be so simple
If it followed the cycle of the tides
We would know when to prepare for celebrations
And know when to brace for the turbulent rides
But life does not follow a schedule
There are too many variables in securing our fate
The best we can do is hold onto our dreams
And appreciate the life we strive to create
There will be times of tidal waves
When we become battered and bruised
We get tossed and tumbled and left to drift
Our hearts feel lost, abandoned and abused
But these times will not last
We will float again on the calm sea
Our hearts will find that certain place
Where we can dwell in peace and serenity
Life may not be as predictable as the tides
But how boring would that really be?
To know what to expect every day without fail
Destroys the “A Ha” moments of self-discovery
