I wish that we could spend some time
Have a glass of wine and share a laugh or two
Did I tell you how much I miss you here?
Life is definitely a bit duller without you
This week, of course, you have been on my mind
Did you think that I would forget the date?
You said you would find a way to let me know you were here
Apparently in eternity, you are still always late
Well, I will go to the restaurant and raise a glass as promised
I hope you appreciate my undying devotion
Last year, that guy at the bar thought I was hitting on him
He would not let it go, and it caused such a commotion.
I guess when you think about it, that was fitting
You would have laughed at the entire situation
But I laugh last; you’re spending eternity next to your in-laws
I told you to consider the many benefits of cremation
Thanks for letting me share this slightly dark poem
But it is one that would have made her roar
Raise a glass with me and toast my best friend
So she knows that in my heart, she lives forever more
