There does not seem to be justice anymore
Honesty has taken a suicidal leap
Politics, business and religion – all corrupt
The price for traditional belief is far too steep
These institutions should beg for our forgiveness
Instead of holding onto their archaic sense of might
In their zeal to be powerful and all knowing
They smothered their sense of wrong and right
We do not have to follow their truth
Nor lose faith in the human condition
Our hearts will show us how to honor our strength
And keep us free from the grasp of unquestioning submission
It is so easy to want to follow a traditional course
And believe because that is what we were taught to do
But the days of unending trust have now expired
The new moral compass has to come from you
Believe in yourself and your sense of what is right
Let passion be your anchor and let love be your guide
Truth will once again return and stake a claim in this world
And dishonesty will find no sanctuary in which to hide
