Life can be a challenging journey
A trek best taken with others who care
Obstacles are then easy to overcome
And good times are much more fun to share
Life is a lesson of learning
We all have opinions and points of view
Not everyone is going to agree with your ideas
But don’t shut them out because they differ from you
Sometimes we get so caught up
In our idea of being right
That we forget about those around us
Of their feelings and thoughts, we lose sight
Why is it so important to you
that others believe as you do?
God gave everyone a heart and a mind
To follow ideas they feel are true.
So, before you get on your soapbox
And rant about how others are always wrong
Think about an alternative view
Maybe your opinions should not be quite as strong
Don’t give your opinions a life of their own
Don’t give them the strength to decide
Who you will keep in your life
And who you will cast aside
