There are those who waste their time wishing

That their lives had taken a different course

Caught up in the world of “what might have beens”

Their hearts are consumed with regret and remorse

Some choices do come back to haunt us

There are always consequences we must bear

But each mistake offers a lesson to behold

A lesson to absorb and a lesson to share

Some hide their mistakes from the world

Burying them in fear and shame

So worried that others will condemn their frailities

They shift responsibility and look to others to blame

We all have made decisions that in hindsight

We wish we could make go away

But we grow if we learn from each of our mistakes

And keep their lessons to use for another day

Re: Taking on our Mistakes

This is so true - as the saying goes "the person who has never made a mistake has never made anything". A great poem with a great message. Pat
