We all have experienced trials in our lives
when our hearts and spirits were crushed
We tried to keep our faith alive
but the voice of God seemed eerily hushed
It would be so easy in these difficult times
to take our depleted spirit and hide
to put on a cloak of self-pity and despair
and declare the fight over - our best we have tried
But before you hoist that white flag
and surrender your spirit and will
Think about the good that exists in your life
Think about the good that can happen still
There must be a glimmer of hope
that you hold onto each day
Take that hope and make it your center
Do not allow that hope to fade away
You can revive your spirit
You can renew the faith in your heart
Just believe that in each day that dawns
lives the promise of a fresh start
