At times we languish in our self-made fog
Too afraid to face the world outside
We think the thick mist can keep us safe
No one can look in; it is a place to hide
But the fog we make is not a shelter
It is a prison constructed by a tormented soul
Others may not get to peek into our world
But we cannot see out, so the fog gains control
Do not see the fog as a comforting friend
Protecting you from hurt or pain
The fog will close you off from your dreams
Blot out the sun and bring only rain
We can lift that fog and embrace the clear day
And witness the wonders of our existence
We will learn that we are stronger than any of our fears
We can destroy the fog with hope and persistence
