Why do some people deem themselves so important
And believe that their lives should carry more weight?
What gives them the right to say what they want?
Why do they love to criticize, insult or berate?
It is our fear that gives the mean spirited their power
No one wants to become the focus of their wrath
So, we give them an excuse to do what they want
We will do anything to stay out of their wretched path
It is time to exorcise the world’s mean spirits
We need to kill them what kindness and extinguish their hate
We can show them what an open heart can accomplish
A new view of life, we can help them create
Mean spiritedness is born of its own fear- not strength
And it is the fear of rejection that haunts this heart
Always offer your hand in friendship and hope
